As I am currently on furlough from work, I decided to head to Warwick Castle to explore the castle, the grounds and off course, shoot some images.
I remember visiting the castle during my school days, it was always good fun to buy plastic swords and play fight with your friends.
Warwick Castle was a short 45 minute drive away from my house. Upon arriving at the castle, I purchased my ticket and headed in. As it was summer holidays, the castle was very busy with kids and their parents.
Whilst wandering the grounds, I saw a beautiful peacock sitting on a hedge so decided to grab as many shots as I could. I have posted a few images from the grounds and one of the chapel inside. The below peacock image is one of my favourites.
I had a great day out and really enjoyed visiting Warwick Castle. The next castle I would like to visit is called Bolsover Castle in Derby, so stay tuned for that.
On the 21st September, I attended a social event organised at Fulham Beach Club by Intro Travel. I was quite surprised that London actually has a beach club with deck chairs, actual sand and an area for playing games such as ping pong and crazy golf.
Intro Travel offer small affordable group trips to Asia and Australia. I did their Bali trip back in 2018!
It was a lovely warm Saturday and I had a great time catching up with friends over beers whilst the DJ was playing some great tunes in the background. It actually felt like I was abroad on a beach!
Whilst there I also met the amazing team from Gap 360. Gap 360 are a travel company based in Kent UK. The purpose of the company is to provide affordable gap year travel opportunities to a wide range of travellers.
All the trips I have done over the last few years have been booked with Gap 360. Their staff are friendly, knowledgeable and most importantly they have a passion for exploring the world.
It was great to finally meet the team who I have spent many years emailing and speaking to over the phone. I am apparently a bit of legend around their offices!
For more information on Gap 360 or if you fancy booking onto one of their trips, their website is https://www.gap360.com/. I highly recommend doing it!
After a few busy months, I treated myself to a mini break in Barcelona. I had an afternoon flight from Birmingham Airport, where I had a pub lunch with an obligatory pre holiday beer. The flight was with Ryanair, where I treated myself to a couple more beers and 2 hours later I had arrived in warm and sunny Barcelona.
Whilst there, I stayed at the St Christopher’s Inn Hostel, just a short 20 minutes away from the airport. On the evening of your day of arrival, the hostel organises an event where you get a chance to meet others staying at the hostel and they also tell you all the best tourist spots to visit and where the best clubs/bars are. During this event, I ended up meeting an awesome group of guys/girls who I spent the evenings hanging out with at the hostel bar/playing beer pong and also visiting some local bars.
During the days, I visited the Barcelona Cathedral, Barcelona Football Stadium and other sights around the city. Due to time constrains, I unfortunately didn’t get a chance to visit the La Sagrada Familia but there is always next time!
Below is one of my favourite images of the Barcelona Cathedral taken on a lovely warm sunny day.
Happy June Everyone! Where is the time going? This year has already been epic, I came back from Bali a couple months ago and I am missing the sun, sea and my friends.
There is still lots of awesome stuff left to happen this year. My sister is getting married later in the year and I am so excited for the festivities and to see all my family that will be coming.
Last weekend was the May Bank Holiday and I spent the weekend with my family in Oxfordshire visiting Blenheim Palace. Blenheim Palace is a 300 year old country home and was the Birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill.
I highly recommend visiting, there is so much to see inside and outside. The grounds are massive and there is so much greenery. I have previously visited the inside some years ago (didn’t have my camera unfortunately) but this time we only visited the outside and walked the grounds.
I didn’t take a lot of photos but enjoy the below images, I will update this blog posts with more images when I next visit.
Earlier this year on my Instagram I posted an image of me onboard the Emirates A380 in the business class suite. I received many comments & emails asking me how I managed to afford business class. Well the truth is I can’t. A few years ago, when I started to travel to Asia quite frequently, I signed up to the Emirates Skywards Programme. The Skywards programme allows you to gain air miles for each journey that you take with Emirates.
Miles can be spent on things such as flight upgrades, luxury hotel stays and even tickets to sports events.
I bought economy tickets but 24-48 hours before check in, I used my miles to upgrade to business & paid a small fee of £73.00 to be able to upgrade my ticket for one leg to Business. Business Class is an amazing experience.
Before getting onto the flight, I was able to use the Birmingham Airport Emirates Business class lounge, the lounge offers a wide selection of food + drink.
The benefits on board in business is that you get a full reclining bed (1/2 way through the flight, the crew come round & make the bed for you with a mattress), a seat all to yourself (no worrying about who is going to set next to you!) a full widescreen TV, a mini seat bar and a nice selection of food served with real cutlery.
The best part of the Emirates A380 has to be the bar in the back of the plane. Yes, that is correct a bar in the plane, how amazing is that?
I definitely recommend signing up to any airline frequent flier program, you may not get an upgrade straight away but over time, it will be worth it!
I will be away in Myanmar from the 21st March till 7th April. Myanmar is a completely new destination for me, so I am very excited to explore & see what Myanmar has in store. It will take almost 24 hours for me to get there!
Keep an eye on Instagram for posts where possible and once I am home I will be blogging all my SLR images.
During December 2016 I visited Abu Dhabi with my family for our Christmas holiday. Abu Dhabi is just a 6 hour flight from the UK. Our visit was mostly a relax by the pool trip but also included some sightseeing.
One of the main sites we had the pleasure of visiting was the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. To learn more about the Mosque you can visit their website https://www.szgmc.gov.ae/ar/Home
Another highlight that we visited was the Emirates Palace, the Emirates Palace is a luxury 5* star hotel that was featured in the 7th Fast and The Furious Movie. We didn’t say here but we did go for dinner one night in Hakkasan which is a Chinese Restaurant.
Overall my trip to Abu Dhabi was enjoyable and I do recommend visiting.
Tomorrow morning, I will be heading off for a 2 week trip round Eastern USA & Canada.
The trip will take me from New York, to Washington DC (with a pit stop in Philadelphia), Allegheny National Forest, Niagara Falls, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Boston, Cape Cod and finally back to New York City.
This will be a fast moving trip that will consist of lots of camping which I love. Looking forward to also building camp fire and hanging out with friends.
I will be posting up updates along the way so stay tuned and now time to get some rest before my flight in the morning!
